Deacon Joel Schmidt

Deacon Joel grew up on a century-old dairy farm in the beautiful Kettle Moraine area of southeastern Wisconsin. He completed a doctorate in Biochemistry at Iowa State University and is currently a Research Scientist for Corteva Agriscience (Pioneer Hi-Bred parent company). Joel was ordained in 2014 in the Des Moines Diocese and has primarily worked in family ministry. He and his wife Lisa live in Story City with their four school-age children.
