STA and The Bridge Home

In 1985, The Bridge Home (formerly the Emergency Resident Project) began its work to house the homeless in Story County.  Since that time its work has expanded with transitional housing for families and homeless prevention assistance to people in need of rent or utility assistance.  St. Thomas Aquinas has helped the shelter in many ways through these years. We provide regular financial assistance through our Social Justice Grants (formerly Community Outreach Tithe).  Groups and families from STA provide meals for residents on Friday evenings (though during the current pandemic, this service has been suspended but may resume later this year).  The student service and justice team has been providing bag suppers for TBH clients staying in hotel rooms, organizing projects with the children in transitional housing, and working on other service projects at the shelter as needed.

Current parishioners serving on the board of The Bridge Home include:

Dan Douglas, STA representative and Board President

Dave Wohlsdorf, at-large representative
