Graduate Students

We have many opportunities for graduate students to be involved in the parish! To find out more, come talk to us at any of the masses on August 14th, 21st, or the 28th. One or more members of our graduate student community will be standing by the Story Wall (wall with multiple sculptures near the elevator) after all Sunday masses to answer questions. Check this webpage or join the CAYAC (Catholic Ames Young Adult Community) discord community to keep up to date on what is going on for graduate students throughout the semester. On Going Opportunities

Small Groups

Three are several ongoing faith-sharing small groups for graduate students. Small groups are a great way to meet people and grow in your faith. If you are interested in joining a small group please contact Phil Stone (phil@staparish.net).

BYOB Book Club / Bible Study

CAYAC (Catholic Ames Young Adult Community) runs a weekly book club for graduate students and young adults. The book club is equal parts, intellectual, spiritual, and social. We read scripture as well as books from a wide range of topics and genres: everything from theology and lives of the saints to novels by Christian authors. The goal of the group is to bring people together to grow in faith and community in a casual, weekly forum.  Feel free to bring snacks and drinks to share.

The amount of reading will always be light, less than 45 minutes per week. Even if you haven't done the reading you are encouraged to attend, conversations always go on tangents and everyone can join in.

We will meet weekly at 7PM on Thursdays in the Bethany room in the student center.

If you have any questions about these events or other graduate student inquiries please reach out to Jackson Hayes (jacksonjhayes@protonmail.com)
