Hi! My name is Amber Herman and I am a junior in Public Service and Administration in Agriculture. I grew up in Davenport, Iowa (but not on a farm) and have one amazing younger sister. Last summer, my passion for serving God led me to Kenya, Africa where I taught English to children in a rural poverty-stricken village. I also traveled throughout North America speaking to high school students about global poverty. This summer I worked on a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm and attended Oxfam America's national conference on trade and agriculture. My passion for trade justice and ending global hunger has driven me to pursue a career in agricultural public policy. I plan to attend graduate school (overseas) and eventually return to Washington, D.C. to work as a lobbyist or for an international humanitarian aid organization. In my free time, I love to walk through Reiman Gardens, playing sand volleyball, and watching the West Wing!
