Kris Egan
Alumni Relations & Development Coordinator
"Cead Mile Failte!" (Gaelic for "a hundred thousand welcomes) to you from the Alumni Relations and Development office!
A native of Dubuque, IA, Kris Egan begins her sixth year as Alumni Relations and Development Coordinator. Kris received her undergraduate degree in business with a media minor in 1986 from Loras College in Dubuque.
Overall, she has been in the development field for 21 years. From 1999 to 2006, Kris served as Development Officer and Campus Minister for Marquette Catholic Schools in Bellevue, IA. Additionally, she served as development director in an emergency and transitional housing facility for women and children and worked as community director for a non-profit organization both in Dubuque.
"Bringing people to Christ and Christ to people," is an important ministry goal, particularly in the development field. Event planning, volunteer development, alumni, donor and media relations, major and planned giving are the key building blocks to a successful alumni relations and development program.
Family and her Irish heritage are central to Kris' life. She is the oldest of 10 children and aunt to 10 nieces and nephews, all in Dubuque. Other interests include traveling to new destinations, weekend road trips, attending outdoor music festivals (especially of the Irish kind!), deep water aerobics, an occasional golf or tennis game, cooking and baking, maintaining her loyalty to the "most lovable losing teams" in baseball and football, the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, Notre Dame and her "pseudo alma mater," the Bellevue Marquette Mohawks. "GO BIG RED!"
Kris enjoys creative writing and keeping the Irish spirit alive by sharing a joke or laugh several times a day! Her door is always is always open where a warm welcome awaits you! She is receptive to any creative ideas or suggestions. Feel free to drop her an email or stop by the office!
Slainte! (Cheers!)
