Joe answered the call to return to Ames from Fort Collins, CO in July, 2015 as the new Development Director for St. Thomas Aquinas. He works to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors giving personal, corporate or foundation gifts in support of our mission and vision, establishing strong working relationships with key parish leadership to facilitate fundraising. Joe also works closely with the Supple Endowment Board to help grow this important base of support for campus ministry and he’s reaching out to resident parishioners and alumni to help them plan for their future and the future of the church through philanthropic estate planning.
Originally from Cleveland, OH, Joe was active in the Newman Center at the University of Arizona and volunteered with youth ministry at Our Mother of Sorrows in Tucson while raising money for scholarships at the UA's College of Agriculture & Life Sciences. He served as Executive Director of the 4-H Foundations in Arizona and Iowa before moving to Colorado State University in 2012, where he led fundraising work for three departments. An Eagle Scout, Joe’s been an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America for many years, conducting leadership training for youth and adults and serving on the board of the Philmont Staff Association.
