The Gabriel Project - Outreach to Pregnant Mothers

Greetings Friends of Life.

The Gabriel Project of Ames has been reaching out to Mother's in need for over 6 years, making Ames a more loving community. This has been a project of the parishes of Ames, offering hope and practical help to pregnant women who may be at risk for abortion and/or in need.  Initiated by Father James Secora of St. Ceclicia's Church through the Sanctity of Life Committee.

Many of you have served Gabriel as coordinators, contributors, volunteers, prayer partners, email baby item suppliers and networkers, Angel-Mentors, baby showers and storage of items, advertising and promotions, baby bootie and blanket makers and raising funds.  For this, we are grateful.

We may not really know the full impact these acts of love will have on the lives we've touched, but thanks be to God we place them in His hands.  We know we have had personal contact and intervened in a good number of lives.

Due to the overwhelming response to the Informed Choices Medical Clinic here in Ames, as of March 17, 2017 the Gabriel Project of Ames will be concluding and our energies can be funneled into this most helpful life affirming clinic.

Informed Choices is not just a crisis pregnancy clinic, it is an ambulatory medical clinic with capacity to provide ultra sounds, disease diagnosis and treatment, as well as counseling related to reproductive health. They are developing mentoring and parenting classes as well and are in much need of volunteers. They also have resources for talks and churches for abstinence and "Life Begins" topics.   I encourage everyone to consider what you may be able to do, remember we can't do everything, but we can do something.
