Church Features: St. Thomas Aquinas Prayer and Proclamation of Dedication
St. Thomas Aquinas is the patron saint for students, theologians and our parish community. The Proclamation of Dedication was read during the dedication liturgy of our renewed church. The pieces were created by Gretchen Weber, St. Thomas Aquinas parishioner and calligrapher and are located at the north entrance of the student center.

St. Thomas Aquinas prayer
Creator of the universe
You set the stars in the heavens
and caused the sun to rise and set.
Shed the light of your wisdom
into the darkness of my soul.
Proclamation of Dedication
We the people
of Saint Thomas Aquinas Church
and Catholic Student Center, Ames, Iowa
dedicate our renovated and expanded building
on this 29th day of April, the Jubilee Year - 2000.
We are grateful to all
who have worked and prayed for this project.
As we dedicate this place
we recommit our hearts and lives to God
who calls our community to holiness.
We respond in worship and action,
living the Christian life in the midst of the people
of Ames and Iowa State University.
May our gathering in this place
propel us to the fullness
of the Reign of God.
