For years, Christian Petersen's limestone likeness of Christ looked over the heads of St. Thomas parishioners from its perch on the west wall of the church. The sculpture's new space outside of the Reconciliation Chapel moves it eye-to-eye with the people of St. Thomas Aquinas. Peterson, former artist-in-residence at Iowa State, created the piece in 1950, one year after he converted to Catholicism. It has been part of STA since the early 1980s.
